The system's features
The system is composed of pretreatment tank, treatment tank, disinfection tank and storage tank and pressurized raw water to be processed into a series of filters composed of multi-media elements such as anthracite, activated carbon, pebbles and coarse sand. The system has the following features:
- Purifies highly turbid water to as much as 100 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units);
- Reduces toxins and heavy metals to acceptable standards for drinking water set by the WHO, IBWA and DENR;
- Removes objectionable color, odor and taste;
- Removes chlorine and its hazardous by-products such as THM and chloroform which are known as carcinogens.
The water obtained from this filtration contains calcium and magnesium known to improve the mental development of the young. Micronutrients like iodine and flouride fortified into the water prevent goiter, tooth decay and osteoporosis.
